Oh ya know, i'm just your average Bookmaker

I really enjoy doodling and working with my hands, so making books is a really good way to keep myself organized. It also allows me to catalog what I've been thinking about.
shhhh... this is my sister's wedding gift (a family recipe book)

Master's Drawings

These are replicas of famous people's drawings. Very interesting, right? It's whatever, they're good practice.

I'm not the only one who is obsessive

This was my drawing final for Cory Antis. We had to draw from a photocopied image, and keep drawing it in graphite, in shades of red, white (which didn't show up in a photograph) and create it in found materials. Then, we had to do it again. Yeah, it was a great final. (that was sacrasm)

I"m Obsessive

I only really learn when I dive into a task completely. The past couple years I've been really into Sharkweek (on Discovery Channel). I know, I'm a geek. I decided to base some of my etchings (actually all of them) on aquatic existence. I watched dozens of films, fictitious or not. I used The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as my main inspirations. I also looked at numerous videos online. If you need to know anything about octopuses or squid, I can help you, or might I recommend Scott Cassell to help. Anywho, check out some of my work.

Anything other than thread...

I really like the work of Beatrix Potter. Her accurate drawings of animals and plant life really strike me as beautiful. She uses some of my favorite colors and content. This weaving was made from yarn, twine, paper, and rope. I think it still conveys Potter's style.

We Us

This piece was started in high school as a collaborative piece. Sean (my main man) and I have worked on it randomly over the past couple years. It will always be a work in progress I think.

Remembrance by Maya Angelou

Your hands easy
weight, teasing the bees
hived in my hair, your smile at the
slope of my cheek. On the
occasion, you press
above me, glowing, spouting
readiness, mystery rapes
my reason

When you have withdrawn
your self and the magic, when
only the smell of your
love lingers between
my breasts, then, only
then, can I greedily consume
your presence.

The First, Finally

i'm not much for talking verbally, so maybe this will be a way to get some of my thoughts out mostly so i can see them. i want to find out what i really like. what is it that draws people to certain characteristics? what is beautiful and what is real? why do we do the things we do? who wires our psychology? why is the sky blue and all that jazz? i'm just thinking about things.
